It was part of the incense used by ancient Greek priests to fumigate temples during sacred rituals. Sulfur from the Greek means theion “divine.” Not only the Greeks but also the Romans knew about its healing properties.

In ancient Rome, hot springs were very popular near Rome and Pompeii. The Romans called them “white waters” (Acque Albule).

Emperors Neuron and Octavian Augustus enjoyed swimming in these waters. Lastly, the sources treated the muscle pain on the recommendation of his doctor Anthony Musa.

In Russia, the first sources of sulfur were discovered during the reign of Peter I in Sergievsky. Later, in 1833, they were called Sergiev waters. He came here to treat joints and skin diseases. Sources of sulfur in Baden, Austria, are also known in Europe, apart from the Romans. They were often visited by the famous writer, Nobel Prize winner Herman Hesse, who successfully treated lumbar radiculitis here.

Methylsulfonylmethane (MSM)

Sulfur is the sixteenth richest chemical element on Earth! Nutriciology revolutionized the emergence of natural sulfur in a bioavailable form, methysulfonylmethane (MSM). MSM is part of the main sulfur-containing amino acids, complex and simple proteins, enzymes involved in the formation of collagen fiber structure and other vital biological substrates of the body.

The cyclic transformations of natural sulfur fully correspond to the cycle of substances in nature. Just as life originated in the ocean, so MSM has its roots in the ocean. Ocean plankton emit some sulfur compounds during their life cycle. When they interact with water, they form a compound called DMS (dimethyl sulphide) which, when evaporated from the surface of the water, reaches the upper layers of the atmosphere. The upper layers of the atmosphere are not protected from ozone and ultraviolet radiation. As a result, DMS is converted to MSM (methylsulfonylmethane) under the influence of ozone and ultraviolet light.

MSM is very soluble in water and returns to the ground with precipitation. MSM is absorbed like a sponge by the plant’s root system. Thus, sulfur enters the plants. A lot of sulfur is found in fresh fruits and vegetables, especially green onions and garlic, as well as various types of cabbage. In turn, MSM from plants reaches animals and humans.

You’ve probably noticed that dogs chew grass. Cats eat indoor plants. Freshly squeezed fruit juice improves a person’s physical condition. It’s all MSM. Old leaves are largely lost to MSM by evaporation. When the water evaporates, the MSM also disappears. When a dog’s hair falls out and they bite themselves to the blood – it’s not an allergy to fleas, but a lack of MSM.

The role of sulfur in the body

Sulfur is a trace element that is a structural component of key biomolecules. Sulfur is needed for hormone synthesis. Hormones are the most important regulatory proteins that control the life processes of the whole body.

Sulfur is a component of enzymes. Enzymes are biocatalysts. They accelerate or activate such vital processes as breathing, cell division, digestion. Each enzyme has a specific task and can perform its activities a million times a minute. About 4,000 enzymes have been discovered and studied, but this is only about a tenth part of what is actually discoverable.

In the living body, metabolic processes take place constantly. Virtually the entire metabolic process is due to enzymes. Hormones and enzymes are regulatory proteins.

Sulfur greatly improves the activity of enzymes that destroy toxins. Detoxification takes place at the intercellular level, meaning that each cell begins to destroy toxins within itself. As MSM is part of the sulfhydryl groups of the active forms of enzymes, MSM rapidly increases their activity. In addition, sulfur is part of the glutathione molecule, which largely ensures the body’s ability to resist various types of toxins and free forms of oxygen.

Sulfur can be called a natural painkiller: it blocks the transmission of pain impulses through nerve fibers. MSM blocks inflammation by increasing the activity of the anti-inflammatory hormone cortisol, which is produced in the body.

Sulfur is required for the synthesis of collagen, the main structural protein in connective tissue. Connective tissues are blood and blood-forming tissues, lymphatic tissues, bone tissue, cartilage, subcutaneous tissue, etc. This explains that with a sufficient amount of sulfur in the body increases the growth of hair and nails, accelerates the healing processes.

All of the above confirms that sulfur is a “beauty mineral”.

Natural suppliers of sulfur in the body

MSM – a white, odorless and almost tasteless crystalline substance found in all living and plant organisms. Fresh fruit, pulses, eggs, beef, poultry, seafood, vegetables, garlic and onions are natural suppliers of sulfur to your body.

Foods of sulfur sources: Beef, Poultry, Seafood, Eggs, Legumes, Garlic, Onion stalks, Fruits, Vegetables.

However, a large amount of sulfur is lost during cooking, so its additional intake with food supplements is very beneficial to your health.

The Little Wonder of Nature – Biotin (B7)

Researchers draw attention to the fact that sulfur in the human body interacts well with vitamins C and B7 (biotin). Biotin is also an additional source of sulfur and acts as a its transport element.

Biotin – from the Greek “bios” (“life”) – a small natural miracle, was discovered by Paul Gyorgy in 1931. It got its name because of its ability to stimulate the growth of yeast and bacteria. Biotin is a group of 8 compounds with similar biological and chemical properties.

Biotin plays an important role in metabolism, it helps to stabilize blood glucose levels, improves the supply of nutrition to the brain and the functioning of the nervous system.

Studies have shown that biotin normalizes skin and mucous membrane functions, prevents the appearance of acne and comedones, helps to prevent small facial wrinkles, peeling and scalp seborrhea. Biotin “works” to help keep the skin healthy by protecting it from dermatitis, protecting the hair from graying and slowing down the body’s aging process.

Biotin is a vitamin for youth and beauty. It is known that skin, nails and hair are mainly composed of keratin protein. Biotin maintains a sufficient amount of this protein in the body and helps to improve the condition of hair and skin, prevents early hair thinning, strengthens the structure of nails, prevents their fragility and exfoliation.

Vitamin C

This is one of the best antioxidant vitamins that support the health of all cells in the body. The antioxidant’s function is that it protects cells from destruction by free radicals. Because early aging of the body, including skin aging, the appearance of the first wrinkles, is caused by the action of free radicals.

Vitamin C is involved in the production of collagen protein, which promotes the synthesis of proline and oxyproline, the amino acids that form the basis of collagen. Thus, vitamin C, together with other components of the product – MSM and biotin – plays an important role in the regeneration of connective tissue, maintaining the strength of joints and cartilage, and in addition, it is a necessary component for elastic and firm skin. It is also interesting that vitamin C increases the skin’s ability to withstand sunlight.

Synergetic triple alliance

Biotin is needed to activate vitamin C, it forms a part of some enzyme complexes and is needed to normalize growth and body functions.

Biotin is also a source of sulfur, which participates in the synthesis of the protein collagen and thus has a positive effect on the structure of the skin and its appendages (hair, nails).

All three components: sulfur + vitamin C (ascorbic acid) + vitamin B7 (biotin) are an active synergistic triple alliance that works in one direction.

Each of them individually is already a part of beauty, youth, health, protection and strengthening of the body, while a balanced combination gives simply amazing results!

Properties of component

Participates in the synthesis of collagen and elastin

Supports skin elasticity and firmness

Strengthens the nail structure

Accelerates hair growth

Strengthens the immune system

Antioxidant effect

Restores connective tissue.
