The action of the active ingredients

Burdock root has a high content of bioactive substances that have a universal effect on the body. Contains polysaccharide inulin (more than 35%), natural sterols, fatty carboxylic (palmitic and stearic) and oxycorinic acids, tannins, bitterness, proteins, essential oils.

Burdock root contains a large amount of inulin, which gives the plant a sweet taste. Splitting in the digestive tract to fructose, inulin increases the deposition of glycogen in the liver and normalizes the insulin-forming function of the pancreas. Therefore, it is very useful for diabetics. In addition, inulin has prebiotic properties, that is, it positively affects the microflora, contributing to the growth of beneficial bacteria.

Oxycinnamic acids from burdock have detoxifying, diuretic and blood purifying properties. They contribute to enhanced excretion of uric acid, urea, ammonia, toxins from the blood, improve kidney function and enhance diuresis. In addition, they normalize water-salt metabolism and have a hepatoprotective effect.

The active substances of burdock reduce inflammatory processes in the gastrointestinal tract, protect the mucous membrane of the stomach and colon from irritation and improve the secretion of gastric juice, support the healing of ulcer erosion, reduce spastic pain and support the release of the intestines.

The bitterness contained in burdock enhances the release of bile, increases the secretion of pancreatic enzymes. Because of this healing effect, burdock root can be used for various nutritional disorders, impaired liver and gall bladder function.

Burdock is characterized by the presence of sitosterol and stigmasterol, cholesterol antagonists, in the composition of valuable plant sterols. These substances regulate the metabolism of lipoproteins in the liver and small intestine, reduce the absorption of cholesterol in the intestine, thereby reducing its level in the blood. At the same time, as natural hormone-like substances, they prevent or smooth out hormonal disorders.

At the root of burdock there are many essential oils and carboxylic acids, known antiseptics that destroy pathogenic bacteria in the digestive tract that cause dyspepsia, allergies and flatulence.
